The Final Touch for Any Page
Now you've gotten it all together. You've got a good page that you think could really draw the traffic from the general surfing public, but something is still missing. You need some graphics that will really make your page stand out.
These are links to some of my favorite free graphics pages. I would recommend at least glancing at the introduction text at these sites because graphic designers often ask that you give them credit on your page in the form of a hyperlink to their site.
GraphX Kingdom - a large free icon site that is different from the majority of free graphics sites in that it is well organized. Well worth the visit if you are looking for any icons.
A Touch of Magick - a good site with many types of graphics. An excellent selection of backgrounds; this is the site where I found the background for this site. Rating: A
The Graphics Station - A wide selection of free web graphics and an excellent tutorial by the author of the page on HTML for inserting graphics in your page.
9190: Web Graphics Station - A very classy collection of free graphics for the World Wide Web. No "trashy" icons.
Jerry's Graphics Room - a decent collection of icons paired with an excellent group of backgrounds. If you are looking for a professional-looking background, check here first.
The Pixel Foundary Background Archive - A large compilation of approximately 250 backgrounds both by their graphics designers and others who have submitted their work.
Icon Bazaar - Another large collection of icons, backgrounds, etc. Well organized.
